AgilityClick for the Beginner Dog, A Positive Agility Experience
Cathy Slot and Steve Drinkwater, the authors of AgilityClick for the Beginner Dog, A Positive Agility Experience, are the co-founders and current Board Members of the Agility Dog Association of Australia Ltd (ADAA) as well as Senior ADAA Agility Judges. They have both achieved Master Australian Agility Dog titles with their dogs and Steve has achieved an Australian Agility Champion title with Tommy his 5 1/2 year old Australian Working Kelpie. Between them, they have taught Agility in Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand and the UK. This first book (85 pages, illustrated) provides a six-week structured course to introduce dogs and handlers to safely negotiate the majority of the Agility obstacles. Handlers are provided with weekly achievable outcomes for the duration of the course. In addition, the understanding of Click & Reward will provide an ongoing tool for handlers to use in training their dog once the course is concluded. The handlers' need to develop a connection with their dog is emphasised throughout, with lesson plans including Instructor Notes discussing important points and complete exercise descriptions.
