Classes

2022 Agility Classes

CLASS OUTLINE

For the balance of this year I am offering a variety of classes from foundations through to handling on longer sequences and courses.

Summary of what is offered

      • Paws for Skills – each session will focus on one or two skills.
      • Paws for Handling – linking individual skills into short sequences.
      • Handling development – join me and Axel on the field to work on handling and sequencing.

Groups will each have access to a group page. This will allow everyone to ask questions about course content, post videos of training to get (and give) feedback and to get (and give) help with challenges they face in between sessions. Whilst not mandatory, to get the most out of your experience, you are strongly encouraged to actively participate in the group.

    Detailed info

        • Handlers working a dog may arrange for workshop co-participants to video sessions when they are working their dog (for their personal use only) but may not video other dogs or Cathy lecturing. It is not appropriate for multiple dogs to be recorded on the same video recorder. Please note you may be asked to leave if you do not comply with this request.
        • Sessions will be held at 85 Blackwall Road, Chuwar.
        • We reserve the right to adjust exercises and/or exclude dogs from exercises if they don’t have the prerequisite skills.
        • At our discretion, we may choose to includes our own dog(s) in any of the sessions/exercises.
        • Please note our policy regarding physical and/or verbal reprimanding of dogs.
        • Planned session dates may change.  As much notice as possible will be provided.

Important Notices: If you have registered to handle your dog in the session, please note that dogs will be required to be crated (or suitably confined) when they are not working. As we live in a residential area, please ensure that your dog does not cause a sound nuisance for our neighbours (we reserve the right to request dogs that continually bark be removed from the premises). Please do not bring additional dog(s) that have not been registered to work the sessions. We have found that the most likely time that dogs are inclined to bark is upon arrival, so if you could minimise that I’m sure our neighbours will appreciate it .

All participants should bring with them:

        • Chair
        • Drinks
        • Food
        • Pen & Paper for record-keeping
Handlers with dog should also bring:

        • Dog crate
        • Training treats
        • Tug toys
        • Water bowl

BEFORE registering for any classes please contact Cathy to confirm your eligibility to participate:
